One Must Be Born Again
DAY 6
“There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.” John 3:1-8 (KJV)
We are living in crucial times and sin is abounding. Where sin can continue to abound, people begin to throw off restraints. What has happened to the prophetic vision and the prophetic voices? The eyes and the mouthpieces that God has placed in the earth for such a time as this. Today prophetic voices are going to their grave without leaving the Body of Christ prophetic instructions for this time and season we are living in. We need to know what we must do. The earth is sinning and Christians are getting caught up in the politics and the drama of the earth and have stopped preaching truth because the price is too big to pay.
We have become a people who have gotten caught up in titles and positions and we have forgotten how to die daily. If we do not die we will not live.
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”John 12:24 (KJV)
Today we see in Scripture that Jesus tells Nicodemus that he must be born again. What does being born-again really mean? Jesus makes it clear:
“Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:3 KJV
“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” John 3:5-6 KJV
To be born again you must allow your flesh to die and not to get in the way. When you are born again you become a new creature in Christ and old things have passed away, and a new life is awaiting you. A life filled with unspeakable joy, miracles, and great triumphs.
I do realize that no one wants to die to their flesh (mind, will and emotions) but to be able to see, we must call our flesh to submit to the will of God. We must allow the Spirit to birth in us the newness that Christ has promised.
Today, let’s look at some Scriptures that will bring us to self-examination.
“If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.” 1 John 2:29 (KJV)
“Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.” 1 John 3:9 (KJV)
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.” 1 John 4:7 (KJV)
“Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. 2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.” 3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” 1 John 5:1-4 (KJV)
“We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.” 1 John 5:18 (KJV)
I am sure after reading these Sciptures we can understand the importance of being born again. If you are struggling put the old you to sleep (death in the spirit) and allow the new you to have a chance to grow and develop into who God has destined for you.
Reflections:
Allow yourself space to examine yourself and repent and make a decision for God. Look at yourself in the mirror. See the inward you and begin to allow the Holy Spirit to deal with those things you don’t want to see or hear. It looking at this you might come to understand that you are not where you may think you are in God or where you desire to be in your relationship with God.
Do not allow yourself to avoid these issues that you see or others may have shared with you about you. Be truthful with yourself and watch the Holy Spirit begin to work inside of you. Allow the Spirit of God to show you what’s up in your heart and allow him to create in you a clean heart and renew the right spirit within you. Remember, we must be born again if we want to be able to see the kingdom of God.
Today write your prayer to God what you need help with.
