Let me show you something:
Matthew 12:43-45 (KJV)
43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none.
44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished.
45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
When we read these Scriptures we must understand that the Word must fill all of you (temple, your body). When dealing with emotions, thoughts and feelings you must cast out everything that is not like God. Then rehearse what the Word says.
Philippians 4:6-9 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9 Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
This is why it is imperative to think of things that are honest, just, pure, lovely and good report. You must displace old mindset and allow the mind of Christ to be present with you at all time. Not a few seconds later, but Christ’s mind must act in our now!
If you fill yourself up with His Word there will be no room for thoughts to take over you and leave you acting fleshly. Therefore, when thoughts, emotions or ideas come the Word of God is there not only to filter but also as a brazen wall of fire around you.
Reflections:
Today cast your cares on God! Fill your mind and heart with the Word of God. Once you cast something to God replace those things with the Word of God. Look and read Philippians 4:6-9 for a start.
